Cihtli Ocampo will be in New York City teaching for one day only. She began her Flamenco studies in NYC with Jose Molina and Jorge Navarro. In 1999 Ms. Ocampo moved to Sevilla and trained exclusively for seven years with the Farruco family. In 2004 she debuted in Farruquito’s production of "Alma Vieja" and was the featured female dancer in Tony Gatlif’s film "Exiles". She has been living in Spain for the past eleven years and has worked with many of Flamenco's most influencial artists including the Farruco family, Concha Vargas, Miguel Funi, Manuel Molina, Montse Cortés, Pepe Torres, Ramon Amador, Diego de Morao and Inés Bacán. Her studies include Eva la Yerbabuena, Manuela Carrasco, Carmen Ledesma, Yolanda Heredia, Angelita Vargas, and Belen Maya. She is currently the co-director and lead dancer of Arte y Pureza Flamenco Co. A documentary about her life in Spain with her husband, guitarist Ethan Margolis, is due out this summer.
